Liverpool have been widely linked with a big turnover of midfield players at the end of the season. Several of Klopp’s midfield options are on the wrong side of 30 or lack the quality required to compete at the top of the Premier League.
The Reds are believed to be leading the race to sign Borussia Dortmund and England ace Jude Bellingham. But they face strong competition from their Champions League nemeses, Real, to lure the 19-year-old back to England before the start of next season.
Chelsea star Mason Mount is another potential midfield target. The Three Lions star has just 18 months remaining on his contract and Blues boss Graham Potter has admitted Mount could leave, especially with the West Londoners targeting more midfield arrivals in the summer.
But Liverpool could need Champions League qualification to tempt many of those big-name players to join. Losing Bajcetic for the remainder of the season bangs a major dent into the chances.
