KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 23 — KPJ Healthcare Bhd’s net profit for the third quarter ended September 30, 2022 (Q3 FY2022) surged to RM54.28 million as compared to RM12.64 million in the same quarter last year.

Revenue rose to RM809.16 million from RM698.96 million previously, the group said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

“The improved performance was supported by improved hospital activities evidenced by the rise in patient visits and bed occupancy rate to 910,995 patients (Q3 FY2021: 782,732 patients) and 64 per cent (Q3 2021: 43 per cent), respectively,” the filing said.

The opening of Damansara Specialist Hospital 2 (DSH2) on September 1, 2022 also contributed to the group’s quarterly performance, it said.

The group expects to maintain its momentum for the remaining months in the current year, backed by improving efficiencies, quality and productivity of its hospitals and investments.

“The opening of DSH2 as the flagship hospital in the current quarter will add value and accelerate further growth for the group,” it said. — Bernama
